A series of oil paintings examines the effects of light as cast shadows on primarily architectural geometric surfaces contrasted with natural organic forms. This series again is strongly imbued by a sense of place identity. The impetus for these paintings was the experience of the vivid light effects of a solar eclipse.

“Our sense of self and sense of the environment are intimately and profoundly entwined. Our sense of self-place connection continues to grow and change throughout our lives. That connection is shaped not only by the physical reality of our environment but by the Psychological, social/cultural, and aesthetic meaning that place holds for us.”
